Nearly 260 million children have no access to education – the highest number in over a decade. What’s more: about half of all children in low- and middle-income countries are unable to read a simple text by the end of primary school. Add armed conflict into the mix and children’s dreams of a brighter future seem more and more unreachable…
Children and young people have the right to grow up free from fear and violence, to develop to their full potential and contribute to a peaceful future – for themselves and for their communities.

Can’t Wait to Learn provides a solution to close this education gap for millions of children – both in formal school and out-of-school settings. It offers children the opportunity to (continue to) learn by playing educational games on tablet devices, contributing to their improved psychosocial wellbeing.

Can’t Wait to Learn supervision platform offers teachers a real-time visibility into students’ performance. Teachers can access up-to-date information on progress on the educational games and participation, allowing them to identify struggling students early on and provide timely interventions. This personalized approach helps prevent learning gaps and ensures that every student receives the necessary support to succeed.

To improve the existing platform, Relief Application initially issued a certain number of recommendations, and once accepted, started implementing them. Those included a full rework of the existing interface using User Centered Design to ensure it better fits the users needs. Much thoughts have been put into improving accessibility as well, for example by making the platform responsive for all devices, and by implementing full Right-To-Left (RTL) support. An upgrade of the workflow has also been implemented through the automation of many processes using Azure DevOps pipelines and other tools.

Following the initial major rework of the platform, Relief Application is also supporting the project through its years of operation. We are maintaining the platform usability and security standards high through regular updates, and bug fixing. The team is also working using a continuous improvement process, by reworking existing features and adding new ones when to enhance the user experience.
