Design and deliver a practical ENAP training pathway for PIROI and the Madagascar Red Cross to strengthen rapid needs assessment and planning capacities for emergency and post-emergency contexts. The programme blends IM fundamentals, field data collection with KoBo/ODK, and decision-oriented planning exercises.
Madagascar is highly exposed to cyclones, floods, and epidemics, placing communities under recurrent pressure. Rapid, reliable assessment and structured planning are critical to prioritize lifesaving actions and coordinate actors. PIROI sought a partner to design an applied training that equips staff and volunteers to collect, interpret, and use data for timely, evidence-based emergency response.
We co-created an ENAP curriculum with PIROI, aligning learning outcomes to real operations. The pathway combines scenario-based drills, offline-first mobile data collection with KoBo/ODK, practical analysis clinics, and planning workshops. Materials were localized, templates standardized, and facilitation emphasized learning-by-doing to ensure adoption across mixed experience levels.
What we delivered
- Modular training package (agenda, facilitator guide, participant handbook)
- KoBo forms and data standards, plus assessment & reporting templates
- Tabletop and field-simulation exercises tailored to cyclone/flood contexts
- Training of participants (PIROI & Madagascar Red Cross) and post-training coaching
