Relief Applications developed a web platform called Warehouse Management System (WMS) to be used by warehouse operators and managers alike. The solution entailed the development of both a web and mobile application to allow the French Red Cross staff to manage stock in real-time: keep track of their stock in different countries and warehouses through movement creation, project and user management and creation of visual dashboards. The mobile app also allows users to work more quickly by accessing data through QR codes scan.
As part of the effort to synchronize the various platforms of the Red Cross, the DOI is planning to start using our WMS to monitor their warehouses. They manage a large volume of stock and need to ensure that the exact items required are sent to each mission. Although they currently work with a warehouse management company, they have not been able to access or view their inventory directly.
The core functionality of this integration is the immediate transmission of data regarding all inventory movements occurring within any warehouse managed by the WMS. Specifically, any transaction—whether it be an input (receiving), an output (shipping/dispatch), or any other stock movement (e.g., transfers, internal adjustments, cycle counts)—triggers an immediate notification to LogAero.
This real-time synchronization is critical, as it empowers the LogAero system to maintain a perpetually accurate view of stock levels and locations. Consequently, the warehouse team gains the necessary intelligence to efficiently and proactively plan and prepare for:
- Inbound Logistics: Knowing precisely what has been received and where it has been placed.
- Outbound Logistics: Understanding current stock availability to fulfill pending orders with maximum efficiency and minimal delay.
- Internal Operations: Facilitating smooth and informed stock transfers and internal movements.
Furthermore, the integration extends beyond mere movement tracking: LogAero is granted comprehensive, read-access to the entire central article database. This full access ensures that LogAero has all necessary master data, including product specifications, dimensions, weight, handling requirements, and stock-keeping unit (SKU) details, providing a complete contextual understanding essential for optimal warehouse organization and workflow management.
