REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business, International Relations, Development Studies, Sociology, Economics or related fields.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years’ experience in similar positions 
  • Able to demonstrate good practice skills to network management and proposal writing included but not limited to creating and maintaining clients and using techniques to achieve the best success from business opportunities
  • Excellent English and French. Spanish will be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and sense of responsibility
  • Ability to identify the main concepts within a text and to summarise large amounts of information.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and IT world is desirable
  • Capacity to translate tech explanations into business presentations will be appreciated

25– 27 k according to experience

POTENTIAL TASK

  • Business development – 80%
  • S/he will be in charge of actively helping to expand the Relief Applications portfolio. This involves scoping and identifying new business opportunities with institutions (NGOs, UN agencies, etc.), including proactive generation of opportunities.
  • S/he will bee required to keep up to date on priorities of tenders to which Relief Applications is eligible to apply.
  • S/he will be working closely with the Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities for both new clients and networking & partnerships. 
  • S/he will need to get familiar with numerous tendering platforms and sites as well as with IT and humanitarian standards and methodologies.
  • S/he will be working closely with the Business Development Manager and the technical team to write technical and financial proposals offering Relief Applications services for IT development and humanitarian consulting. This entails reading carefully the Terms of Reference and any additional documentation to write proposals that describe precisely how we can respond to the specific requirements. 
  • S/he will help prepare presentations and organize webinars/sessions about the different services Relief Applications offers.
  • S/he will be required to do some research on different thematic areas according to the business needs.
  • S/he will be required to help manage the workload to ensure the timely submission of proposals and grants. This involves helping coordinate the work flow with staff and potentially with additional resources for specific ad hoc missions (external consultants). 
  • Helping develop and maintain networks in the humanitarian/IT community 
  • S/he will be requested to give feedback and support user testing of the IT products developed on a needs basis. 

 

  • Marketing and Communications – 20%
  • Guided by the Business Development Manager, and in close collaboration with the Marketing Lead, s/he will help to ensure marketing and communication are supporting Business Development objectives and procedures. 
  • S/he will help promote the services of the company during workshops or events as well as to participate in training and other activities as requested
